Society
The European Society for Intercultural Theology and Interreligious Studies (ESITIS) is an international and interdisciplinary society for the scholarly study of Intercultural Theology and Interreligious Relations. It was established on 19 March 2005 at Amsterdam.
Aim
The society aims at stimulating and coordinating research and education in intercultural and interreligious studies in theology, science of religion, anthropology and philosophy at graduate and post-graduate level.
Membership
Members are scholars with a university position or Ph.D. candidates in the fields mentioned above, such at the discretion of the board of the society.
Language
The language used in the society is English.
Affiliated members
Affiliated members are scholars from other disciplines and professionals with expertise in these fields of study.
Meetings
Members organize biennial weekend conferences on a rotating basis.
Publications
The society stimulates exchange of academic publications through Studies in Interreligious Dialogue. Members will become subscribers automatically
Secretary
The secretariat is taken care of by the members on a rotating basis.
