Please register here\n\n\n\nMuch has been discussed about the challenges that the Covid-19 pandemic has created for religious life. ESITIS would like to contribute to this discussion with a webinar workshop focusing on some of these challenges\, now more than a year into the current pandemic period. Beyond this\, scholars in the fields of Intercultural Theology\, Interreligious Studies\, and related disciplines have faced the challenge of revising the ways we approach research under pandemic conditions. So what possibilities are there even for cooperation with religious others? Prof. Syeed will reflect on current potential for interreligious engagement under the isolating conditions of the pandemic.Joanna Wojtkowiak: Religious Rituals and during COVID 19It quickly became clear that the pandemic would profoundly affect the performance of religious ritual. But it has done so in ambivalent ways – forcing individuals closer to  themselves but further from others. From Eucharist online to virtual Iftar and praying practices via ZOOM\, Prof. Wojtkowiak will consider the ways communities have had to creatively improvise and innovate.Willie Jennings: Theo-logics of Race and Populisms during COVID 19From the Netherlands to India to Brazil\, the pandemic has taken a disproportionate toll on the poor and persons of color. The intersections of disease\, class\, racism and nationalism have been on vivid display in the USA in particular\, from the renewed visibility of the BLM movement after the murder of George Floyd to the mob attack on the Capitol building on 6 January 2021.
